The Dougherty County Board of Elections has voted to seek funds for court fees from Lorenzo Heard.

Ed Collier, Attorney for the Board of Elections, says the taxpayers paid him to defend the board and the case was dismissed. He says a witness testimony proved what board members had suspected.

This will not be another lawsuit. The motion will be filed under the same case as before because he has a forty day time period to do so.

Collier says a decision for Heard to pay back the funds will be up to the judge and if denied, he will not appeal.

The board voted four-to-one, with one person abstaining from voting.
