ALBANY, GA --
The Dougherty County Voter Registration Office is close to finalizing the write-in numbers from the November 6th election.

The electronic machines that capture the votes print out a final report once all polls are closed. With the case of write-ins, it lists all variations of names and assigns a number for each one.

With the highly contested race for the Dougherty County Board of Education At Large position receiving plenty of write-ins, the office must report every variation of Reverend Lorenzo Heard's name.

Once it is decided which ones will count, the Board of Elections will announce the final number Heard received.

They plan to complete the count Wednesday evening during a meeting at the government center.
