ALBANY, GA -- Darton State College invited poet and performance artist Reginald "PM" Sweet to pay tribute to Martin Luther King on his birthday in remembrance of the
civil rights
leader.
Sweet performed for the audience selections of poetry in remembrance of King.
Organizers of the event say they hope attendees were inspired and hope they make a
positive change
in the world.
"Hopefully (they're) inspired, that you too can have a positive impact, that whatever your path in life whatever your career pursuits, your major, your discipline, you too can have a role in impacting history in a positive way," said Wendy Wilson the Asst Dean of Diversity, at Darton.
A question and answer session on poetry and spoken word took place after the event.
