ALBANY, GA --
The Dougherty County Police Department is trying to make Thanksgiving a little more enjoyable for some of the area's less fortunate.

DCP donated Thanksgiving dinners for 30 families to St. Clare's Neighbors in Need to distribute to members of the community. This is the 10th year DCP has partnered with St. Clare's at Thanksgiving.

Det. Tamiko Whitlock of DCP said, "We're here to serve the community, of course we're here to protect and serve, and we also like to give back, and let the community know when you see us it's not just a criminal matter, we're also here to help."

Earlier this month, cheerleaders at Westover High School partnered with DCP to assist with the food collecting process.
