23 counties in Georgia have been named primary or contiguous natural disaster areas due to a recent drought. Farm operators are now eligible to be considered for emergency loans from the Farm Service Agency (FSA) for the next eight months.

Multiple counties are considered to be primarily affected by drought. They include: Bryan, Bulloch, Chatham, Colquitt, Effingham, Jenkins, Miller, Screven, and Seminole counties.

Baker, Brooks, Burke, Candler, Cook, Decatur, Early, Emanuel, Evans, Liberty, Mitchell, Thomas, Tift, and Worth counties are designated to contiguous disaster counties.
