ALBANY, GA --
Emerge Albany held their first meeting of the year on Wednesday to welcome back both old members and new members and tell them about any changes made.

Albany Dougherty Chamber of Commerce President Chris Hardy says the biggest change is the creation of the Leadership Development Committee who will work alongside the Young Professionals Committee.

Kirt Phillips will lead the new committee, which is aimed at creating programs that will provide professional skills to young leaders and prepare them to become future business leaders.

Hardy says members will learn what it's like to serve on a board of directors as well as gain one-on- one access to community leaders.
