ALBANY, GA -- City workers, in Albany, will soon have an easier time understanding their pension plan.

Currently, the pension plan document is filled with legal and technical terms, which can be hard to decipher.

A summary plan description is currently being prepared, and will lay out the pension plan in plain English.

"This document explains how many years they have to work for the city, in order to be vested in the plan, and how their retirement benefit is calculated," said Albany's Human Resource Director, Henry Cohen.

Officials say this will help city workers prepare for their retirement.
