ALBANY, GA -- Local business leaders learned about the future of state at the Rise and Shine Breakfast Wednesday morning.
Those attending the breakfast learned about the 2013 State legislative agenda, focusing on topics affecting Albany and Southwest Georgia.
Speakers included representatives Gerald Greene, Winifred Dukes, Carol Fullerton, Ed Rynders and state senator Freddie Powell-Sims.
State senator Freddie Powell-Sims discussed how all of the issues were dependent on balancing the budget.
Some of the issues discussed including how to better position the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany to better position itself against Base Realignment and Closures, creating a pro-business environment by expanding incentives and funding for small to medium size business, Medicaid and hospital bed taxes health issues, and many others.
