Two vehicles were involved in an accident in Smithville at the intersection of GA 3 and Livingston Road on Thursday morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol Corporal McKenzie, Smithville police chief, Artie Garder, was driving a black Dodge Charger and pulled in front of a white Ford Pickup carrying two passengers, Danny Sullivan, the driver, and William Winters.

Gardner struck the other vehicle and is at fault for the accident.  

Both vehicles were towed and both drivers sustained minor injuries. Gardner was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
