Jackson Heights Elementary School held a career day Friday for first through fifth graders.

Students went around the gym looking at different displays and asking questions to learn about various career fields.  The areas of interest included college, finance, law enforcement, the military, the media, the arts and more.

Jackson Heights counselor Sophia Johnson says the school hosted the fair to expose students to a lot of career fields when they’re young.  “We feel like at this stage they need to know the importance of their school work and how it relates to their future career goals and college aspirations” says Johnson.
