ALBANY, GA --
According to officials, dispatch received a call around 9:30 Thursday morning about an armed robbery in East Albany.

Police responded to the Family Dollar at 245 East Oglethorpe Boulevard. where officials say two suspects had in fact gotten away with an undisclosed amount of money. One man was believed to be armed.

Phyllis Banks with the Albany Police Department says thanks to good descriptions of the men, they were able to locate the two suspects and they are now in custody.

Banks also said no one inside the store was hurt, just a little shaken up.

The two men arrested were 19-year-old Kenton Dontae Hill and 23-year-old Johnny Hill.

Kenton Hill was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Johnny Hill was charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

Albany police also charged Johnny Hill with armed robbery and hijacking a motor vehicle for a hijacking that occurred on Clark Avenue in March. Officers say that Hill paid the victim to take him to the eastside and once in the vehicle, he pulled out a black handgun and took the victim’s money and 2006 Chrysler Sebring. The vehicle was was recovered in the 1300 block of Lee Street.
