ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Police Department has announced they have pushed back the start date of the Citizen's Police Academy to March 19th to allow more time for residents to sign up. APD Public Information Office Phyllis Banks says the office wanted to give people an extra week to sign up instead of beginning the classes on March 12th as previously planned. Banks says the class is a great way to build a better understanding of a police officer's job and builds a better relationship between the citizens and the department. If you're interested in signing up, you can visit the law enforcement office on Washington Street Monday through Friday during office hours or download an application online from the city's website.
