ALBANY, GA --
The Tift Head Start Center in Albany held a Black History Month program Thursday morning entitled “A Journey Through Black History Through the Eyes of a Child.”

Children, ages of three to five, participated in this program.

Each class either sang a song, put on a play, or read a poem that related to black history.

For the event, one class decided to designate each student to play a certain official in Albany; one child even portrayed FOX 31’s own Romney Smith.

Juanita Carr, with the Head Start Center, said it’s important for children, even at a young age, to learn about their history and heritage.
