LAGRANGE, GA -- Georgia State Patrol officers are working on an accident that claimed the lives of five people Friday, including a 1-year-old child.

Public Information Officer with GSP, Gordy Wright, released a statement saying the crash happened on GA-14 near Hudson Road in Troup County.

The driver of the car at-fault reportedly died in the collision after he attempted to pass in a no-pass zone.

Officials are calling the accident a, "head-on" collision and believe that alcohol may have been a factor.
