Reggie French was awarded, "officer of the year," after his fellow officers voted to award him the distinction.

"It's unbelievably flattering to say the least. To be recognized by your peers as one of the outstanding officers of the year is incredible, because we all strive to be the best we can be every day we're out there," said French.

Commissioners spoke after the meeting emphasizing the importance of law enforcement, and commented on how proud they are to have officers of this caliber patrolling the streets.
