ALBANY, GA --
Most car accidents are just that, an accident, but there are some cases where people cause them intentionally.

A recently released National Insurance Crime Bureau study shows Georgia is seventh in the country in questionable automobile insurance claims, with 422 of them in the past four and a half years. The cost of insurance fraud falls on the customers

"Everyone that pays their premium,(it goes into) a pool, and when you have insurance fraud it results in high premiums for everybody," explains insurance agent Robbie Toole,

In fact experts say 10-15 percent of each premium goes toward fraud. For insurance veterans, like Danny Toole, who has been in the business for 45 years, fraud is nothing new.

"No it's not anything new, it's been going on for as long as I can remember. It's no worse now than it was thirty years ago," says Toole, who went on to say what has changed is the type of fraud, the most common form of fraud he sees now a days is individuals insuring other peoples vehicles.

One of the most important steps in having a vehicle is insured properly is making sure the driver is listed on the policy.
