ALBANY, GA --
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Albany have selected their youths of the month, with Derrick Jones winning for November and Ayanna Phelps winning for December.

16-year-old Derrick Jones is an 11th grade student at Lee County High School with 13-year-old Ayanna Phelps is a student at Merry Acres Middle School.

The awards are sponsored by the Albany Police Department’s Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association, the Albany Chapter #65 of the National Association of Women in Construction and Advertising by Lisa. 

The plaques are presented to youth who attend the Boys and Girls Club, display good behavior, leadership skills and excel academically. They were presented by the Alumni Association yesterday evening at the Boys and Girls Club on Jefferson Street.
