ALBANY, GA --
Over the next two weeks, the Albany Fire Department and the Albany City Risk Management Division will be hosting fire safety training courses.

The courses are open to all citizens and employees in Dougherty County, and teaches basic fire safety education such as smoke detector placement, exit drills, and even how to use a fire extinguisher; all techniques that can help save your life.

"We've had only 3,500 people die last year in fires, several years ago it was 12,000, so fire safety education has brought this number down. So it's very important and it will save your life," said Inspector Jennings, from the Albany Fire Department.

All classes are held in room 100 at the Government Center, located at 222 Pine Avenue in Albany.

Wednesday, January 23rd: 10:00am-11:00am, 11:00am-12:00pm, 5:00pm-6:00pm
