ALBANY, GA -- The Albany Boys and Girls Club held their annual meeting Thursday evening for the induction of their 2013 president.

Lamar Parker will serve as president through December 31, 2013.

Many of Albany's leaders came out to the dinner in support.

The Boys and Girls club serves over 3,000 children in the Albany area.

Officials say giving children activities to occupy their time helps keep them out of trouble.

“We feel that it's contagious. If we can get other people involved with this and get all of our kids into some kind of program so they'll have something better to do then we're all better off,”  Lamar Parker, Albany Boys and Girls Club President.
