The Tift Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Foundation will hold the annual Hearts and Diamonds Gala on Saturday, Feb. 2, 7:00 p.m. to midnight, at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.
All proceeds from this black-tie optional event benefit the Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation’s “Heart Safe Community” program, which provides community organizations with automatic external defibrillators and area paramedics with 12-lead EKG units. The program also financially aids the families of TRMC cardiac rehabilitation patients with special needs.
“This year’s event is a tribute to Mr. Bill Richardson,” said Mandy Brooks, director of the TRMC Foundation. “Mr. Richardson has served as president/CEO of TRMC since 1988. Under his leadership, TRMC has grown from a community hospital to a regional referral center serving all of South Central Georgia.”
Richardson earned his master’s degree in hospital and health administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and his undergraduate degree from the University of South Alabama. He serves in leadership roles with the Georgia Hospital Association, VHA Georgia and the Georgia Alliance of Community Hospitals (GACH). He was named GACH CEO of the Year in 2005. His community involvement includes membership in the Tifton Rotary Club and board member of the TRMC Foundation, Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce (past chairman), Tiftarea YMCA (past charter member) and First Community Bank of Tifton (Synovus).
Brooks said this year’s gala theme will be “Fire and Ice.” Tickets are $125.00 per person, which includes fine foods, musical entertainment by “Mo’Sol,” dancing, a silent auction and diamond giveaway.
“This event is fun evening, all for a great cause,” said Brooks. For more information or to purchase a ticket, call the Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation at 229-391-3310 or visit www.trmcf.com.
