DOUGLAS --
Douglas Police have released surveillance footage from the Saturday night armed robbery at the Dollar General on Route 441.
The footage shows one of the victims, Shanda Griffin, pull up to pick up her boyfriend who is an employee at the store. The two employees inside leave the store and start to lock up when two masked men come up with guns outside.
One of the men orders Griffin’s boyfriend, Brian Rollins, back into the store and demands money while the other stays outside to rob Griffin.
Griffin says she resisted and angered the robber, causing him to shoot her in the back. She was later treated at the local hospital and released.
The video also shows officials dispatched to the scene, but the thieves had already gotten away with an undisclosed amount of money.
Detective Randy Ryles with the Douglas Police Department says they have no solid leads at this point and ask anyone with information to please call them at 912-384-2222.
