ALBANY, GA --
Dougherty County School Board Member Velvet Riggins was sworn in Friday at the Dougherty County Courthouse by Probate Court Judge Nancy Stephenson.

With the swearing in ceremony, Riggins will now resume her position on the board.

Riggins said she wants to put the past behind her and move forward and that she is excited to be back on the school board.

Riggins faced no opposition in the November election and was found not guility on charges of falsifying documents and  falsifying documents as a public official in 2012.
