ALBANY, GA --
Dougherty County Rotarians are "giving back" and helping a sister rotary club in need.

Officials confirmed Thursday that they will be sending a check to the Newtown Rotary in Connecticut to help with funeral costs, counseling and other services.

The first of multiple donations was $500 dollars.

Local Rotarians say when we were in need after the 1994 flood, other rotary clubs gave gifts after the Flood of 1994 and used all of the donations to assist people in our community hardest hit by the flood and see this as a way of giving back.

You can find out more about the Rotary Club of Newtown via their
website.
