ALBANY, GA --
Albany fire crews investigating what caused a blaze just off Highway 82 Wednesday morning.

Tony Scott was visiting his family at 4408 Acree Avenue. While there, he was sleeping on the couch and awoke to the smell of smoke around 7:00.

The kitchen was engulfed in glames and spreading; taking about 20 minutes for fire crews to extinguish.

Everything, including the family's Christmas presents, were lost, but they are thankful everyone is ok.  They say this time of year, family is most important.

Scott suffered a burn to his head and cut his hand getting everyone out safely.
