ALBANY, GA --
Commissioners debated this morning using SPLOST VI funds to construct a pedestrian overpass for Albany Technical College over South Slappey Boulevard.

Members of the committee stated that SPLOST funds are spread out over several other major projects, causing commissioners to grow concerned that they may need these funds later.

However, if there is enough money for the bridge plus extra projects in the future, they are required to allocate those funds to Albany Tech.

The walk will reportedly cost $860,000 dollars to construct, and the current traffic situation is a safety concern for students at the current time.
