Officers responded to a call in the West Highland area for a shooting suspect after a person was shot in the thigh while walking in the area.
The victim, Scott Grant, was walking in the 900 block of West Highland and was approached by the suspect(s). The suspect(s) attempted to rob the victim but the victim took off running.
While running, the victim heard several shots. Grant made it to 840 West Oglethorpe Boulevard and realized he had an injury to the thigh.
The suspect(s) is a black male with a slender build, wearing dark clothing and is armed with a handgun.
Citizens in the area should be on alert.
The victim has been transported to the hospital.
Dougherty County Police is assisting in the search for the suspect(s).
