ALBANY, GA --
Water Gas & Light is all set for their 22nd annual Christmas Parade, which is scheduled for Saturday at 6:00pm.

Hundreds of volunteers worked together over the past year, designing skits, planning details, and even spend some of their own money, to make this event special.

"So many people have worked so hard to do this as a gift for the community to truly unite us and kick off that holiday season," said Lorie Farkas, event organizer and Assistant GM of WG&L

Like always, the parade will be kicked off by the lighting of the WG&L Christmas tree, which will be done this year in the honor of a fallen police officer.

"This year we're honoring Officer Fleming, who lost her life in the line of duty last year, we are honoring her through her family lighting the tree," explained Farkas.

This year’s 25 foot tree will be lit by over 20,000 LED lights, which we’re told, will dance to the sound of music.

The parade route will run up Pine Ave, from Davis St., hang a right on Washington, and head back down Broad St., to Davis.

Farkas recommends getting there early, and bringing chairs and blankets to sit on.

She also say's there will be a surprise skit involving the Albany Mayor, Dorothy Hubbard, that you wont want to miss.
