According to Albany State, fifteen administrators from Nigeria are attending a two-day City and County Government Administration workshop at the university with the purpose of learning to assist the Ogun State of Nigeria with the mechanics of local government operations.  / File

ALBANY, GA --
Earlier in the week, delegates from Nigeria visited Darton State College. A new group has arrived in Albany and are visiting Albany State University for two days of learning about local government.

According to Albany State, fifteen administrators from Nigeria are attending a two-day City and County Government Administration workshop at the university with the purpose of learning to assist the Ogun State of Nigeria with the mechanics of local government operations.

Local government participants will include include Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard, City of Albany Commissioners Roger Marietta and John Hayes, Albany Assistant City Manager Wes Smith and Latoya Cutts, Director of the Department of Community and Economic Development.

The event is organized by the International Development Organization Inc. and is funded by the Ogun State Government of Nigeria.
