ALBANY, GA --
UPDATE:

Dozens of people gathered at Albany State University to celebrate the life of fallen student, Mariah Myers, on Wednesday night.

Students say an already tight-knit campus is sticking together and appreciating each other more now that another Golden Ram's life was lost.

23-year-old Myers was killed in an accident outside of Savannah last Tuesday – and family, friends, faculty, and staff joined together to honor the life of someone they call an angel.

"Mariah was very, very fun. She was loving, she was always energetic. She always was an angel,” said Miss ASU, Asia Cook.

"Mariah was definitely someone that you could not put into words. A leader, a true sister, an angel on earth,” said ASU Alumni, Daia Ford.

"Mariah was always a happy person. Every time I seen Mariah, she always had a smile on her face, it doesn't matter if it was raining outside, she would always be smiling," said ASU Student Government Association Vice President, Dorian Gunter.

Friends say putting together a service is exactly what Mariah, a person who always gave back, would have done for a fellow student.

Friends also encouraged the crowd not to be sad but instead celebrate the life of someone who was loved by everyone.
