ALBANY, GA --
Thanksgiving dinner can take hours to prepare, and that's something some southwest Georgia residents don't feel like dealing with.

“You got family coming in, you’re trying to get the house clean , trying to get ready for your family, and what not, and you don't really have enough time to do all the cooking and preparing,” said Eric McCallum, the General Manager of Sonny's BBQ.

Sonny’s and a few other places around town prepare a full thanksgiving meal for you, all you have to do is heat it up. There's also restaurants open for individuals who don’t want to step foot in a kitchen.

Golden Corral had people waiting outside the restaurant at 10 a.m. for them to open. By 1 p.m. there was a wait to be seated.

Whether it's ordering a fully prepared meal to go, or choosing to eat at a restaurant, everyone has their own reason for not cooking on thanksgiving.

“We have such a small crew, it's just our tradition to go out and eat. It's easier, it's less time in the kitchen and more time in front of the TV, for football,” said Terri Partin from Leesburg.

“Most of our family is up north and can't be here and so this is a good solution,” said Albany resident, Elliott Minor.

When you have such a small party, people say it can be cheaper to eat out.

“We go in there have a couple of slices of turkey, and maybe we pay $20-$30 dollars, versus buy a turkey and spending hours cooking it,” said Minor.

Having these options Thanksgiving dinner give people something to be thankful for.
