ALBANY, GA. --

The Albany Downtown Merchants Association met Tuesday night to try to come up with a plan to bring more shoppers downtown.

The holiday shopping season is approaching and business owners want buyers to take advantage of what downtown has to offer.

The Christmas parade is scheduled for next month and business owners are hoping to draw parade goers in for some Christmas shopping.

“We're going to make sure that all the locals down here are ready for it and got ideas and can pass on other good ideas. Some Stuff that they've seen in the last couple years that might be working,” said Jason Warren, Our Daily Bread owner.

Merchants also discussed ways to unify the downtown area with holiday decorations.
