ALBANY, GA --
Sherwood Acres Elementary School announced the results from the 2012 YLI Mock Election.

Almost 2 million votes were collected from across the country from 600,000 students.

The national results listed Barack Obama as the president elect with  of the votes 60%. Mitt Romney came in second with only 35%.

The Sherwood Acres results also listed President Obama as maintaining his office with a whopping 84% of the students' vote. Mitt Romney only received 11% of the students' support.

The students say this made them feel like they were really participating in the future of our country. Students say it also encourages them to remain interested in the election and they're counting down the days until they're 18 and eligible to vote.
