TERRELL COUNTY, GA --
Students, faculty and staff of Carver Elementary School in Dawson gathered on Monday to accept a check for $10,000.

The school was chosen as a recipient of the Monsanto company's America's Farmers Grow Rural Education grant. The program allows farmers to nominate their local schools to apply for a grant that will enhance the math and science education of students.

Terrell County Superintendent Robert Aaron says they feel blessed to accept the money which will help further education at the school.

The grant will also allow the school to apply for 16 laptops for the teachers that will replace the older models, something Aaron says was much needed.
