ALBANY, GA --
A breast cancer celebration walk was held on the Turner Job Corps campus in honor of Ms. Tina Phipps.

Phipps is a mentor in the schools Endowment Professional Women program.

As a community service project, the students in the Endowment program wanted to hold a cancer walk to recognize Phipps' survival along with other cancer survivors.

Over 1,100 people came out to join the walk comprised of people from Turner Job Corps and Southwest Georgia.

"All the proceeds, every single penny raised by our staff and community partners will be dedicated to the Carlton Breast Health Center on Monday in honor of Ms. Tina Phipps," says Calandra Jefferson, Business and Community Liaison for Turner Job Corps.

Organizers set out to raise at least $800 during the event.
