ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Board of Education has voted to reinstate a teacher recommended for contract non-renewal by the CRCT tribunal at their Wednesday meeting.

The Board decided against the recommendation from the tribunal and instead decided upon a 40 work-day suspension for teacher Nikki Lyons.

Lyons was a first year teacher accused of prompting students to correct answers on the 2009 CRCT tests.

The tribunal board recommended Lyons receive a non-renewal of contract in August.

The board then approved two recommendations made by the tribunal board to reinstate the contracts of Adrienne Savage and Beverly Knighton-Harris, two other teachers investigated about the CRCT test scores.
