ALBANY, GA. --

A beloved and respected downtown Albany business owner has passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Homer Holiday died in his home Saturday.

Mr. Holiday was the owner of the Union Dry Cleaners on North Jackson Street in downtown Albany.

Friends and community members joined for a prayer vigil in his honor on October 13, 2012 in front of the dry cleaners.

Holiday was known to clean clothes for the homeless for free and press clothes for school children in need.

FOX 31 has not yet received information about funeral arrangements for the beloved businessman.

We’ll keep you connected to the details as they become available.
