ALBANY, GA -- The Dougherty County Finance Committee met Monday morning to continue discussions on how to cut next year's budget.

Fire and police services make up over 90% of the county budget.

The county will have the Carl Vinson Institute come in and conduct a study of their fire protection next year to see if any money can be saved there.

There may changes also in recreation services. The county currently shares recreation services with the city.

The Carl Vinson Institute will also be conducting a study to find any cost savings there.

In addition, the committee said they are constantly reviewing the group health insurance.
