ALBANY, GA. --

Every year hundreds of people volunteer their free time to help out at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Thursday night those volunteers were rewarded for their efforts.

The 29th Annual Volunteer Service Awards ceremony was held in honor of those who donate their time and energy.

The theme for the party was 'Rockin through the '50s.’

Marty Harris and Thomas Burke were honored as the Phoebe volunteers of the year.

Although only two people received the highly esteemed award, Phoebe officials say they're thankful for all volunteers.

“They give so much to our hospital. This year alone they've given over 75,000 hours just of their free time in volunteer efforts. So we want to just show them how much we appreciate them,” says Suzanne Perrine, Director of Volunteer Services for Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
