Sunbelt Ford sponsored “Take the Wheel for Academic Achievement” at their dealership in Albany.

For every test drive between 10 and 2PM, Ford Motor Company donated $20 to M.L.K. JR Elementary school.

The school plans to use the money for their community outreach program.

"We wanted to go to the children’s doors, we wanted eliminate those excuses, I don't have transportation, I don't have money to get my child to and from school (outside) the school hours, so we wanted to go to the homes where the children reside", said teacher Travis Ervin.

Saturday's goal was to give 300 test drives which would translate into $6,000.
