ALBANY, GA --

Dougherty County Senior Citizens received some crime prevention tips at Saturday morning’s Town Hall Meeting.

Guest speaker, District attorney Greg Edwards ,spoke to seniors about techniques to keep themselves safe.

Officials say there are three basic rules to follow, which include staying alert, knowing your surroundings, and trusting your instincts.

City Commissioner Rev. Ivey Hines, who organized this town hall meeting said, "People come after seniors on the internet, fraud, running scams, each and every day, and it's extremely important that we as seniors protect ourselves from those who would victimize us."

Seniors also learned ways to keep safe while on vacation, driving in the car, and traveling on public transportation.
