Community members gather outside Union Dry Cleaners, to show support for owner, Homey Holiday, who is suffering from cancer.

ALBANY, GA --
Homer Holiday, the owner of Union Dry Cleaners, knows the value of freshly cleaned and pressed clothes. He uses his craft to give back to the community, by cleaning the garments of the less fortune, free of charge.
"It's because of the love that he had for this community, he truly loved Albany Georgia, and he showed it by the kind of things he did", said Dougherty County Commissioner Maurlean Edwards.
Holiday began working for the cleaner when he was a young man before eventually taking it over. Family members say he dreamed of owning his own business, and that his generosity started at a young age.
"He always blessed someone else, that was his thing he always tried to help someone else", says Holiday's sister, Juanita Ellias.
Holiday has been diagnosed with cancer, and recently, has had to be hospitalized.
The community wanted to show love and support for Holiday by holding a vigil out front of his shop.
Antonio Hooks, Holiday's oldest son said, "It means a whole lot; you know people come down for the vigil, show their support for him and hope he pulls through and recovers."
For now, Union Dry Cleaners remains closed, with the family hoping to one day reopen, and praying for a speedy recovery of Homer Holiday.
