ALBANY, GA --
20 Pre-K teachers at Sylvandale Elementary School were awarded $50 gift cards to Sam's Club for supplies as part of the store's Teacher Rewards program.

The teachers received the gift cards during a small ceremony Thursday morning.

Sam's Club Membership Manager Bertha Stokes says a lot of teachers are forced to buy supplies with their own money due to recent cuts in education. Stokes says although $50 may not seem like much, when you realize how many pencils, notebooks and other small items it can buy, it makes a difference.
