The streets of Albany got a little safer Monday evening.

The Albany Police Department held their pinning ceremony to welcome 11 new officers.

The officers successfully completed training and were sworn in and pinned as official members of the Albany Police Department.  Now the officers will go through a three month field training program and an in house review board before they head out on their own.

From all of us here at Fox 31, congratulations to all of the n.ew officers and we look forward to working with you.
