ALBANY, GA -- Retirees flooded room 120 of the Government Center at Tuesday's city commission meeting.

The city was considering ending the reimbursement for Medicare part B, which they have done since 1980. It was costing the city $400,000 a year, in a time when the city is looking in every corner to cut costs.

The commission tentatively voted to "grandfather in" everyone 65 and older, but they would quit reimbursement for everyone under 65. The final vote will take place October 23 at the city's night meeting.
