ALBANY, GA. --

Albany State University students spent their Saturday at school taking a few tips on professionalism.

The 2nd Annual Student Leadership Institute rapped up this afternoon.

Students who participated were provided soft skills in leadership and effective communication in negotiation.

They were also given tips on how to dress for success.

Leaders for Albany State's National Alumni Association say seminars weren't only intended for lecture but they were used as a tool for open discussion.

“This is an interactive session. It's not solely about presentation of information but it affords the student an opportunity to engage with the facilitator,” says Joycia Ricks, President of the ASU National Alumni Association.

Ricks says the number of participants for this year's institute tripled last year's numbers.
