A busy day for Albany police as they respond to four burglaries all within two hours of one another.

Multiple businesses were targeted by thieves.

Police responded to an alarm at Short and Paulk at 400 North Cleveland around 3 a.m.

There are no suspects at this time, and it is unknown if anything was stolen.

Then burglars targeted the Dollar General on West Broad around 5 a.m.

Officers were conducting building checks when they noticed the front door window had been broken.

It seems they stole an undetermined amount of deodorant and toothpaste.

There was also a robbery at Tim's Artistic Art at 105 North Broadway Street.

33-year-old Cedric Shelton heard glass break and went to the front of the store where a suspect demanded money.

Shelton opened the register; the suspect took the cash and fled.

And finally there was an armed robbery, also around 5 a.m. on South Jackson Street.

46-year-old Ernest Williams was visiting a friend there when two black males approached him demanding money.

One struck him in the back of the head, another hit him with his fist and then took money from his pockets and ran.

If you know anything about any of these cases, you are asked to call Albany police or leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers at 229-436-TIPS or 229-436-8477.
