ALBANY, GA. --

Georgia's unemployment rate is remaining constant, unchanged from July when the 9.3 percent rate was revised to 9.2 percent.

The Georgia Department of Labor announced that Georgia’s unemployment rate was still 9.2 percent in August.

Over the last year, the state of Georgia has created 49,700 jobs.

500 of those jobs are in the Albany area.

A year ago the jobless rate was set at 9.9 percent.

Officials say the August-to-August growth in the last year is the most we've seen since 2007.
