Water Gas and Light and city to work together

ALBANY, GA -- During a presentation of Water, Gas and Light's budget projections, Albany City Commissioner Jon Howard stated this is not the time to chastise WGL for things they are not doing, but to work together.

It had been argued by commissioners that WGL is not being forthcoming with the city commission, to which they are supposed to report since they are a department of the city.

Mayor Dorothy Hubbard wants to plan a retreat with both boards to have a civil dialogue, and John Vansant III with WGL proposed a quarterly meeting with the commission.

Meanwhile, commissioner Tommie Postell mentioned that the budget WGL presented does not include pertinent information such as salaries, raises, etc.

Vansant says he will send that information to commissioners as soon as he has it ready.
