SYLVESTER, GA --
UPDATE 9/16/12

We've learned that Brian Ferguson was driving a Mitsubishi Montero when he ran a stop sign at Bridgboro/Anderson City Road, pulling out onto Highway 133.

Rashad Best was driving a Ford F-150 on 133 and ran into the Mitsubishi on the passenger side.

Fire reportedly ignited in both vehicles after the crash.

Kevin Murphy was the passenger who was flown to Macon for emergency treatment.

A friend of the family says Murphy went into surgery Saturday night with injuries in the pelvic area and had a separated shoulder.

He's moved into the ICU in Macon.

Ferguson, Best and Wilber Dixon, who was a passenger in the pickup were all taken to Phoebe.


UPDATE 09/16/12

A wreck in Worth County resulted in at least four injuries--one of those was transported by Air Evac for emergency treatment in Macon.

The crash happened at 7:15 Saturday night and involved a Mitsubishi Montero and Ford F150 pick-up.

Worth emergency units and Georgia State Patrol were dispatched to the intersection of Bridgeboro/Anderson City Road and Highway 133.

Fire reportedly ignited in both vehicles after the crash.

One male victim was life-flighted to Macon and three others were taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.

According to WorthIt2U.net, an official on the scene says the pickup was traveling south on Highway 133.

A friend of the one of the victim's family says the man flown to Macon was Kevin Murphy and was said to have gone into surgery around 11 Saturday night with pelvic area injuries and a separated shoulder. He is now recovering in ICU while the other passenger in that car was released Saturday night from Phoebe.

Two vehicles were involved in a serious automobile accident Saturday evening in Sylvester at the intersection of GA 133 and Bridgeboro Anderson Road.

Officials report multiple injuries to passengers and medical helicopters were sent to the scene.




State troopers remain at this location while the investigation is underway.
