ALBANY, GA --

As a way of getting the Dougherty County Youth on a track to success, HEART Organization Inc. and Gateway Empowerment Temple Inc. hosted their first annual "Back to School" Expo, Saturday.

The event was coined “Snapshot of Success", and was designed to motivate and encourage the youth to succeed in school and in the community.

Professionals from various fields of work were on hand to provide information and answer questions about their careers.

"What we're really trying to get is the children to take a look and (realize) this can be you, as far as a career. In other words we're trying to change the way that our children think so that when they go back to school they can apply themselves so that one day they can be a leader", said Anne Johnson Milledge, the President and C.E.O. of HEART Organization Inc..

Around 250 kids showed up, as an added bonus, door prizes, lunch and school supplies were given away.
